Horizon CDT researcher Iris Jestin (2023 cohort) has contributed to a new study exploring drivers’ views on in-car monitoring systems, which can be used to detect fatigue, distraction and other driving behaviours.

Funded by the RAC Foundation, the research examined drivers’ attitudes towards being monitored and the factors that influence their views. The findings highlight ongoing concerns around privacy and trust, and can help inform the development of driver monitoring systems that balance road safety with drivers’ privacy.

Published by the University of Nottingham and the RAC Foundation, the study recognises Iris as a co-author of the full report, Understanding Driver Monitoring Systems.
