On 11th May 2026, the Horizon CDT was proud to support Game Changer London for the second year running, held at the historic Royal Institution of Great Britain in Mayfair, London.
We were thrilled to once again be part of a genuinely thoughtful one-day conference bringing together leaders working across AI, personalisation, behavioural decision-making and digital transformation. With more than 25 speakers and a highly selective audience of CMOs, founders, product and experience leaders, technologists and investors, the day focused firmly on real-world application rather than theory or hype.
One of the strongest themes throughout the day was that AI is not one single disruption or trend, it’s a strategic implementation challenge touching trust, ethics, literacy, personalisation and organisational culture all at once.
The event was organised and hosted by Horizon CDT alumna Dr. Vanja Ljevar from the 2017 cohort and co-founder of Kubik Intelligence. Vanja opened the day with a framework around two kinds of trust: institutional trust and relational trust. Her example stayed with many people in the room; a doctor prescribing medication and then calling a few days later to check in. The follow-up, the continuity, the human part of the interaction. That’s what builds loyalty!
There was sharp thinking, honest conversation and a refreshing willingness to discuss both the opportunities and responsibilities that come with AI.
It was also great to see fellow University of Nottingham colleagues alongside Horizon CDT students and alumni in the audience contributing to the conversations throughout the day.
Once the conference ended, the conversations carried on at the pub. No panels or presentations – just good company, relaxed chats and a chance to catch up properly after a busy day. It was a lovely way to round things off and continue the connections made throughout the event.
