Angela Thornton (2019 cohort) presented a webinar on A Contemporary Understanding of Whole Brain Emulation and Mind Uploading at the 2023 Research Methods e-Festival.

The 2023 Research Methods e-Festival, an online event organized by the NCRM, was held from November 7 to 9, 2023. This festival celebrated research methods with an interdisciplinary approach, aiming to foster collaboration and innovation across different fields of study.

Angela’s webinar provided a comprehensive overview of her research journey into whole brain emulation and mind uploading. Angela shared insights into the current state of research, the public’s perceptions and attitudes towards these concepts, and the innovative methods used to explore hypothetical scenarios. The webinar also showcased the potential of AI-driven apps and Brain-Computer Interfaces in advancing these fields and demonstrated her creative storytelling website as a novel research tool. The webinar highlighted Angela’s research contribution, which provided valuable insights into the future of mind uploading and related technologies.
