Fourth-year Horizon CDT PhD candidate, Cecily Pepper, is focusing on the impact of social media platforms on the mental health and wellbeing of care-experienced young people. Cecily began their internship at the end of 2021 with the UKRI TAS (Trustworthy Autonomous Systems) Hub working on two projects: TAS for Health and TAS Test and Trace.

One of the studies they conducted aimed to examine how public trust in the COVID-19 DCT app changed over a one-year period and understand changes in the use of the National Health Service Test & Trace (T&T) app.

Cecily and her team have successfully published their findings in the Journal of Medical Internet: Understanding Trust and Changes in Use After a Year With the NHS COVID-19 Contact Tracing App in the United Kingdom: Longitudinal Mixed Methods Study
