Appointment of New Deputy Director for Horizon CDT

We are delighted to announce Dr Nicholas Watson as our Deputy Director of the Horizon CDT. Nik is a Chartered Engineer and an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering whose research focuses on how data and digital technology can improve the sustainability, safety and productivity of food and drink production.

Nik is excited to start the role of Deputy Director of the CDT, where he will work with students, academics and industry partners to develop new multidisciplinary collaborations and projects to address many of the global population’s challenges.

Professor Sarah Sharples, the current Co-Director, is stepping down to start her new role as Chief Scientific Adviser at the Department of Transportation. Sarah will continue as Co-Investigator and Academic Supervisor for the CDT.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for Sarah’s commitment and contribution to the CDT’s success, as well as her individual support to the CDT staff.
