Maddy Ellis (2016 cohort) is currently writing up her thesis and working as a research associate with the BEADS project collecting ground truth data on female genital mutilation (FGM) risks between villages in East Africa.
Since working with safe houses, Maddy has been amazed by the Tanzania Development Trust, their support of HOPE safe houses and their fight against FGM in Tanzania.
Maddy has chosen International Women’s Day (8th March 2021) to raise awareness of FGM and spread the word about the Trust’s work.
Join us for a viewing of the outstanding feature-length film ‘In the name of your daughter’. We hope that this film will inspire change and ignite action in the fight to end FGM.
Date: Monday 8th March, International Womens Day: 19:00 – 20:45
You will be sent a link in the morning enabling you to join the evening’s virtual film screening. There will be an opportunity to discuss this film afterwards if you choose.
The email you receive in the morning will contain all the information you need, if you have any questions in the meantime please do get in touch: madeleine.ellis2@nottingham.ac.uk
