Horizon CDT student Rebecca Gibson (2019 cohort) has been working with the EPSRC-funded research project Hybrid Gifts which has recently collaborated with Studio Chocolate in Nottingham to offer a special gift for Valentine’s.
The Hybrid Chocolate Gift allows customers to add a digital gift – music, photos, videos etc – to their order of chocolates for a unique and personal experience.

Rebecca’s PhD – Using digital layers to evoke nostalgia in hybrid gifting – focuses on the idea of hybrid gifts and will explore the value of hybrid gifts that embed nostalgia through personal data.
