The EPSRC-funded Horizon Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in My Life in Data welcomes it’s fourth intake of PhD students this week to the University of Nottingham. Between 2009-2013 five previous cohorts also commenced doctoral training within the CDT under the previous research council grant.
12 new CDT students from a diverse range of disciplines and backgrounds have joined us, and are currently participating in the bespoke week one programme, which provides them an insight of how they will carry out their doctoral research in this transdisciplinary setting.
Activities delivered over the five days include welcome sessions and interactive workshops delivered by the CDT’s Directors, Professor Sarah Sharples and Professor Steve Benford, presentations from students from the 2016 intake, a research poster preparation session for the forthcoming Horizon CDT Industry Day (delivered by Dr Sarah Martindale, Training Programme Manager), and various opportunities to network with students from across previous cohorts.
We will post details of the 2017 students in the Research Highlights section of the website very shortly, including their research areas and details of aligned CDT industry partners.
Welcome 2017 cohort!
