Computerphile videos

Computerphile is a highly successful YouTube channel all about computers and computer-based stuff, which received a Golden Button Award from YouTube in Spring 2018 for reaching one million subscribers.

This channel provides an excellent public engagement vehicle for our CDT students to make short films to talk about their research to a relevant wider audience. Since 2016, CDT students from the 2012, 2013 and 2016 cohorts have produced Computerphile films on a variety of digital research areas including Blockchain, Bitcoin, 3D scanning of physical objects, digital theatre props, brain-scanning computers, brain controlled movies and online privacy.

You can view our 10 Horizon CDT student videos produced for Computerphile below. These videos have achieved over 900,000 views collectively on Youtube.

Below: Horizon CDT students and alumni Christopher Ellis, Dr Dimitri Darzentas, Roma Patel, Dr Horia Maior, Richard Ramchurn and Kate Green talk about the research they are carrying out within the Mixed Reality Lab within the School of Computer Science at the University of Nottingham.
