The success of EPSRC Horizon Centre for Doctoral Training is recognised within the University of Nottingham Collaborative Research in the School of Computer Science: Making a difference brochure, which was produced in Summer 2020.
This publication was produced by the school to showcase the plethera of successful multidisciplinary research and industry collaborations that the School of Computer Science has been involved in over several years, and how it has secured funding in order to participate in these world-reaching and innovative partnerships.
The Horizon CDT is major player in the school’s doctoral research success, and has produced more than 65 alumni, with each graduate working in collaboration with a industry partner to complete their PhD.
A case study on how BBC Research and Development collaborated with the Centre with a doctoral student who graduated in 2020 is also featured. After completing her PhD, which explored the challenges of using personal data when in novel media experiences, Dr Neelima Sailaja graduated in Summer 2020 and went on to join Horizon Digital Economy Research as a Research Fellow.
