Dr Neeshé Khan, from the 2018 CDT cohort, is currently working as a Research Fellow in Cyber Security at the University of Nottingham.
Since graduating in 2023, Neeshé has been contributing to the Cyber Security Communities of Support (CyCOS) project, which focuses on strengthening cyber security resilience among Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) — a critical area given that SMEs make up 99% of UK businesses and play a vital role in national infrastructure and supply chains.
Her work explores how cyber security hygiene and resilience can be improved within SME communities, complementing existing support structures. She is currently leading a longitudinal pilot study to assess the effectiveness of these communities and the wider impact they may have over time.
A recent highlight includes her paper being accepted at the 20th International Conference on Critical Information Infrastructures Security (CRITIS 2025), where she presented design principles for these support communities to an international audience in Sweden.

Through her research, Neeshé is helping to strengthen cyber resilience in organisations that form the backbone of the UK economy. Her work has the potential to make a real-world impact by improving how SMEs access, understand and apply cyber security support in an increasingly complex digital landscape.
