The Robotics + Care Mashup took place 16-20 October 2023 at the CARE Group at the National Robotarium, Heriot-Watt University. This event brought together students, academics, care providers and technologists to develop solutions for helping people live more independently. It featured expert talks, hands-on workshops, and tutorials, all centred around a 5-day hackathon focused on healthcare, assistive technology and robotics.
Angela Higgins, third-year CDT student from the 2022 cohort, was part of the hackathon team that won first prize for their project, FurBall. The concept involved a “robotic pet designed to help monitor the health of older adults in their homes.”
Well done Angie!
