Second-year PhD student Angela Thornton (2019 cohort) is exploring the personal and public narrative around the hypothetical journey to whole brain emulation (WBE) and the ultimate creation of a substrate independent mind (SIM).
Angela has recently joined Carboncopies, a non-profit organization that supports scientists working on challenges crucial to whole brain emulation.
“I am delighted to be part of the Carboncopies team and look forward to working towards a shared vision of bringing the science to a concept that for many emerged from science fiction.”
Congratulations Angela! We look forward to keeping up with your contributions and activities at Carboncopies.
