We’re very pleased to share that Horizon CDT PhD candidate Lucy Hitcham (2023 cohort) has contributed to a major new national report on the use of Extended Reality (XR) technologies in healthcare.
The XR Healthcare Landscape Report was commissioned by the University of Liverpool and CHI-Zone, and carried out by The XR Health Alliance in collaboration with MindTech (NIHR HealthTech Research Centre Mental Health). It is the first study to map how XR is being used across the NHS, universities and industry throughout the UK.
Lucy, working with Dr Aislinn Gómez Bergin and colleagues from the XR Health Alliance, helped to lead this work. The report looks at where XR is currently being developed and deployed, the challenges organisations face and where future opportunities may lie.
On 24th November, the team launched the report at The Spine in Liverpool, where they presented the findings, took questions from attendees and showcased a range of pioneering XR innovators. Exhibitors included Tend VR, XR Therapeutics, Strolll, PixelMill and Patient Ready – all demonstrating cutting-edge XR technologies designed for healthcare.
We are very proud of Lucy’s contribution to this important piece of research!
