Ellie Contributes to Ofcom Consultation on Online Safety for Women and Girls

We’re proud to share that Horizon CDT student Ellie Colegate (2021 cohort) has contributed to a recent Ofcom consultation aimed at making the internet safer for women and girls. Working with members of BILETA (British and Irish Law, Education and Technology Association), Ellie helped shape a response to Ofcom’s draft guidance, which highlights how tech companies should take greater responsibility in preventing harm and supporting users.

Ellie collaborated with Dr. Felipe Romero-Moreno (University of Hertfordshire), Professor Kim Barker (University of Lincoln), and Reader Edina Harbinja (Aston University), offering insights grounded in her deep knowledge of the Online Safety Act. We’re delighted to hear that some of her contributions have been included in Ofcom’s final guidance—a great achievement!
