PhD student Favour Borokini (2022 cohort) recently attended the Dutch-Flemish Law & Society Association (VSR) PhD Days and presented her research at the main conference in Leiden, Netherlands. The conference, held from 28–31 January 2025, brought together socio-legal scholars exploring the law in action
In her latest blog post, Favour reflects on everything from visa drama and travel firsts to the excitement of presenting findings from her first study on the Digital Governance and Vulnerability panel—chaired by Gianclaudio Malgieri and Linnet Taylor.
Her research—exploring Afrofeminist ethics in the design and use of avatars—sits at the intersection of law, technology, and identity. She also shares how the word “minor” became a central theme in her study, and how validating it was to connect with socio-legal scholars after training in a very different legal setting.
