The DMU faculty 3MT (Three Minute Thesis) contest challenges postgraduates from various faculties at De Montfort University to explain their thesis in just three minutes to an audience of non-academics. This is an exciting opportunity for students to present their research in an engaging manner, showcasing their passion for their subject.
First-year Horizon CDT student Szymon Olejarnik participated in the DMU faculty 3MT competition and secured first place! Szymon’s three-minute presentation focused on the issue of video gameplay and wellbeing.
Having won the DMU’s Computing, Engineering, and Media (CEM) 3MT competition, Szymon will now represent the CEM faculty at the overall DMU Doctoral College competition.
Szymon’s funding stems from a collaboration between Computer Science and Informatics at DMU and the Horizon CDT at the Univeristy of Nottingham.
Well done and good luck Szymon!
